  • The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.

The film is now in PD in the US, so i think the original upload should be restored and reverted.--Mayimbú (talk) 05:40, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

checkY restored. Jay 💬 09:54, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you do the same with File:RKR wiki pic.jpg? The original file uploaded 2 days before the hidden version seems to be missing in the file history. --Mayimbú (talk) 17:06, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The hidden version (from 2010) was smaller (10 KB). I have restored it though. Jay 💬 05:43, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jay, You offered to help make the COI/paid editing disclosures "Let me know if you need help making the disclosures. Jay 💬 07:13, 24 November 2024 (UTC). I would like to mak the disclosure and would be most grateful for your help. Ireneangelico (talk) 15:30, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As per that talk, did you go through WP:Paid-contribution disclosure#How to disclose and have any questions regarding it? Jay 💬 16:22, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

WTF

[edit]

You've been an administrator since like forever (fooled me, I didn't even realize you were one) and you're this clueless? If your objective is to raise my blood pressure to the limit, you've succeeded brilliantly. wbm1058 (talk) 19:40, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Clueless about what? I wondered the same about you, but I knew you are an admin since you deleted a page. Jay 💬 19:44, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your close at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 January 14#Common lime didn't, in practice find "no consensus". It found a consensus that not only is Tilia × europaea the primary topic, it's the only topic. What a farce. Maybe it's primary topic in the UK, but I think the tree's practically unknown in the United States – I'm not aware of them lining any roads here. To have a primary topic, you need to have a consensus that there is a primary topic. Per WP:Primary topic, "highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic" means highly likely editors will agree that it's much more likely than any other single topic. When editors can't come to an agreement, the default is to disambiguate.
Well, I've just cooled off enough to read your last sentence, "No prejudice against converting this to a disambiguation page", so that's what I'm gonna do, i.e. override your close. – wbm1058 (talk) 13:25, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I made the "no consensus, retarget" per WP:NCRET: .. it may be appropriate to retarget a redirect in these circumstances, even absent explicit consensus for the retarget. There were no multiple retargeting options to go for the "no consensus, disambiguate". By the way, you are discussing this close objection under the title "WTF", and I'm assuming doing that was an oversight. Jay 💬 14:43, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'd never noticed the subpage Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Common outcomes before, so thanks for the pointer, so now I know where you were coming from. I don't like to see essays that have not been thoroughly vetted by the community plastered with so many shortcuts that are used to imply they have been vetted as justifiable rationales for closing discussions. None of the three WP:NCRET examples fit this particular case. Just disregard my arbitrary section header if you like, it's not important. – wbm1058 (talk) 15:22, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to rename WikiProject

[edit]

Hi there, I'm hoping you might be able to help us over at WikiProject Eurovision. We recently had a discussion on renaming the project and consensus was reached to rename to "WikiProject Song Contests". Given the large number of sub-pages which have been created over time, I felt getting help from an admin would be beneficial, just so I don't royally screw it up! Looking through the pages I don't believe everything needs to be renamed, as a lot of stuff has been archived, so if you're willing to help, please let me know if you'd like a full list of pages to be renamed! Many thanks. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 10:39, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If the archived pages needn't be renamed, then won't they continue to show in a user search and create confusion? For example, WP:WikiProject Eurovision/Archive/todo. If a user types in "WP:WikiProject Eurovision" in the search bar, it will list this and all archived pages. Or is it sufficient that the base WP:WikiProject Eurovision page is deleted (and not made a redirect) as part of the pagemove, while any other non-archived pages continue to exist as redirects to the new page name? Upto 100 subpages can be moved as part of a page move. Jay 💬 16:35, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you review?

[edit]

Hi, Jay! I had applied at WP:RFP/R but no admin has replied yet. I would like to know if you can review the request. Thanks Xiphoid Vigour ༈Duel༈ 14:51, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you wait a week or two? You will be completing a month only today, and your request was made last week, when you had not met the criteria. Jay 💬 14:57, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
